WINNERS OF SCOTTISH SCENIC ROUTES SECOND COMPETITION ANNOUNCED

The second, 2-stage, Scottish Scenic Routes competition for projects on sites in the Cairngorms NPA and on the Caledonian Canal was launched  on 27 March.  Final judging of the shortlisted projects took place on 20 June.  The winners are designs for the ‘Harbour Rest’ at Laggan Locks by Sean Douglas and Gavin Murray and ‘The Watchers’ at Corgarff Lay-by by John Kennedy.

Proposals by Ruairidh Moir for Corgarff and by Melissa Lawson and Ross Aitchison for Laggan were Highly Commended.

The Scottish Scenic Routes project seeks to involve newly graduated and newly qualified architects and landscape architects in the development of a series of interventions along Scotland's most scenic roads.
