Public sector equality duty

The design of successful places and buildings requires an approach that is inclusive.  Those involved in the design or upkeep of our built and natural environment should provide for all people, regardless of their age, ability, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or religion.   This principle underpins all the work of the Scottish Government.

Scottish public authorities must have 'due regard' to the need to eliminate unlawful discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations.
